Our mission: Inspiring Nyamboyo’s youth to create a prosperous future by removing systematic barriers, and equipping them with vocational education, life skills, entrepreneurial opportunities, and a deep commitment to community and civic life.
Over a 3-year course of study, our students become nationally certified professionals in one of four fields, ready to enter the Kenyan workforce.
School is completely free. Students pay no tuition and receive 3 meals daily, uniforms, all school supplies, and reusable sanitary pads for female students. There are no hidden fees so families can afford to send their children to school.
Women in Kenya face many hurdles to becoming self-sufficient professionals. NTS provides women with tools to move past challenges through opportunity and personal growth!
With a population of 58,000, Nyamboyo Village is rich in natural resources, while access to modern necessities is limited. With an education, NTS students escape many of the generational traps of poverty that affect their families.
Being one of the few young women in Electrical Wiring isn’t easy, but NTS gives me the courage to keep going. Every time I complete a project, I feel stronger. I want girls to see that this trade is for us too.
Fashion has always been in me. At NTS, I’m learning how to turn ideas in my head into clothing with my own hands. Every stitch brings me closer to becoming a designer whose work can travel the world.
I picture myself one day opening my own salon. I know it won’t happen overnight—it will take practice, patience, and support. With NTS beside me, I believe I can make that dream real.
When I’m building, I imagine the future. I want to master masonry and carpentry so that one day I can return here as a teacher. My dream is to help other young people discover their strength in this profession.

Exceptional Results at Nyamboyo Technical School
We’re proud to share that 100% of our students passed the national exam administered by Kenya’s National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) — a remarkable achievement in a country where the average pass rate is just 50%.
In 2024, 64% of NTS students earned scores between 70% and 90%, while an impressive 36% achieved a First-Class Pass, scoring above 90%.
These outstanding results place Nyamboyo Technical School among Kenya’s top-performing vocational institutions, a testament to our students’ dedication and our teachers’ excellence.
From home renovations to new builds, our young masons and carpenters have the hands-on skills to graduate as nationally certified professionals, fully prepared to join a crew or launch their own business.
Quality hair care is always in demand—and our nationally certified students, trained in cuts, color, weaves, and styling, graduate prepared to excel in salons or start their own thriving beauty businesses.
Nyamboyo Technical School tailoring students learn a full range of skills from complex sewing to clothing and accessory design. In a village where mass-produced clothing can be hard to find, tailors provide an always needed service. Our students graduate as nationally certified tailors with many employment options.
Electricians are urgently needed in our region where new construction is ongoing. Our nationally certified electricians are equipped to join established electrical companies or become independent contractors.
