In Year One, students dive into the foundational skills needed to work professionally, confidently, and safely in the electrical field. Because safety is the heartbeat of this trade, the first year is all about mastering proper working methods, practicing them until they become second nature, and building strong safety and health habits that will guide every step of their future careers.

In Year Two, students level up their technical skills as they dig deeper into the electrical trade. They learn to install wiring systems, fix wiring enclosures, and perform essential circuit testing with growing confidence. Training expands to cover a wide range of domestic, commercial, and industrial wiring systems, giving students the versatility the industry demands. In Year 2 students explore specialty areas and, by the end of the year, each student selects the specialty they will pursue in Year Three.

In Year Three, students step fully into their chosen specialization—domestic, commercial, or industrial electrics. As a cohort, they continue advancing their general electrical knowledge, while in smaller groups they dive deep into the trade-specific skills that make them employment-ready. This year sharpens their practical abilities in inspection, testing and commissioning, and fault diagnosis and repair across electrical installations. Students also master a wide range of installation skills, including fitting boxes for switches and sockets, installing distribution boards and main switches, running cables from boards to switches, and setting up light points, fan points, and socket outlets.
