Meet some of the extraordinary people, both adults and teens, dedicating their time and talents to NTS. We couldn’t do it without you!

Levi Molnar

Math Book Designer

Levi Molnar is a senior at the California State University of Monterey Bay. At the California University of Monterey Bay, he is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a concentration in Ecology, Evolution, and Organismal Biology.  He is also seeking a double minor in Chemistry and Environmental science.  After gaining his Bachelor’s degree, he hopes to attain a Master’s as well as a PhD in Marine Biology.  He hopes to one day be able to study the deep mysterious depths of our oceans and hopes to find a new species of deep-sea marine organisms.

At NTS, Levi has dedicated time to designing a math book using coding language called Wolfram Mathematica.

Kenny Cao

Software Engineer

Kenny is a Software Engineer at Source Web Solutions, known for his ability to craft user-friendly and effective digital tools. His work focuses on building smooth-running websites and software, improving user interactions with technology through practical and visually appealing designs. Kenny’s approach consistently enhances user experience and operational efficiency.

At NTS, he is the webmaster, ensuring the look, functionality, and efficiency of the NTS site.

Mudit Sibal​

AI Consultant

Mudit is the Founder of an AI Start-up and has extensive background as a Data Strategist and Growth Consultant working with start-ups in India and Singapore. He typically engages in roles focused on Data Analysis or those associated with AI Optimization in order to explore how AI can solve wider socio-economic issues.

Lisa Van Dyke

ESL Illustrator and Designer

Lisa Van Dyke loves to create in the form of graphic designs and illustrations. Prior to her volunteer position at NTS, she developed marketing and communications materials (e.g., social media posts, advertisements, email marketing pieces, flyers, posters, etc.) for a variety of organizations that included a music store; a food pantry; a church and a foundation in Punjab, India created to accelerate the developments of individuals regardless of social or economic status.

Prior to those positions, Lisa worked as a Marketing Specialist and Marketing Manager for 5+ years at a Washington State nonprofit apprenticeship program, the Aerospace Joint Apprenticeship Committee (AJAC). AJAC trained apprentices in machining, aircraft mechanics, precision metal fabrication and several other aerospace and manufacturing related industries. She developed digital and print marketing materials on a range of projects (e.g., social media posts and ads, email blasts, newsletters, posters, flyers and more) to ensure uniformity in the company’s brand and language.

Tharaka Hasitha

Grant Researcher

Tharaka Hasitha has completed his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Sri Lanka Technological Campus in Sri Lanka. Additionally, he has successfully completed his Postgraduate Diploma in Project Management, Diploma in IT, and AutoCAD, and gained relevant professional experience. The diverse knowledge in different disciplines is a great testament to his dedication to continuous learning and his versatility in various areas of expertise.

Since he comes with a strong tertiary and vocational education, he understands the value of both territories and vocational education. From a young age, he has had a great desire to engage in volunteering works, and now he is willing to bring his experience in the education sector and capacity for research. He loves to see NTS facilitating more and more students, enlightening their lives, and is proud to be a part of this great venture.

Ada Umeugo

Graphic Designer

Ada Umeugo is a recent graduate of Howard University located in Washington, D.C. There she majored in Spanish with a minor in International Affairs. Ada currently works as a Language and Culture Assistant in Madrid, Spain with CIEE.  In this role she designs activities and presentations for her students, while promoting the use of conversational English in the classroom. What brought her to Spain was her love for solo adventures, traveling, learning, and embracing the beauty of cultural diversity. 

For NTS she makes graphics, charts, and other informational designs to deliver important messages throughout the school community. As a Nigerian-American, she is thrilled to be working with an organization that is providing transformative career and education opportunities
to upcoming African leaders.

Dhruv Avadhanam

Social Media Designer

Dhruv Avadhanam is a Junior at Eastlake High School in Sammamish, Washington. At Eastlake, he loves playing soccer and is a 3-year varsity soccer player and 2 x scholar-athlete. For the past 2 years, he has pursued his passion for graphic design. By aiding in the creation of social media posts and graphics, he hopes to bring awareness to NTS’s mission.

Megha Rana

Medical Resources Researcher

Megha Rana is a recent graduate from the University of Connecticut with a major in Molecular and Cell Biology and a minor in Sociology. She is currently gaining clinical experiences and preparing herself as a Physician Assistant school applicant. Megha’s passion for healthcare and health equality makes her eager in being a volunteer for NTS and working behind the scenes to change numerous lives. She has written numerous blogs and is now leading NTS’ medical resources team. Megha loves to see the accomplishments of NTS’s work and is grateful to be part of such an organization.

Christina Quigley

English-Kiswahili translator

Christina Lauren Quigley is postgraduate student at the University of Dar es Salaam. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from California State University, Chico followed by a 2019-2020 fellowship as a Fulbright scholar for the Fulbright U.S. Student Program. Christina is a Kiswahili speaker and scholar of the Kiswahili language. Christina lived in the port city of Kigoma, Tanzania at Lake Tanganyika’s DR Congo and Burundi borders for several years. There, she researched how popular Congolese rumba music crosses secular–religious boundaries and international borders. Working with Congolese and Tanzanian gospel singers, teachers and musicians, they held weekly community Muziki Darasa music class debates in downtown Kigoma. As Christina completes her postgraduate thesis, volunteering for the Nyamboyo Technical School in southwest Kenya is her first experience as a Kiswahili-English translator. 

   Currently, Christina is translating NTS’ Anti-Corruption Policy as well as the Safeguarding Policy, so these critical documents, and the rules and behavior they represent, are understood and followed by all staff and students.

Wafa Khan​

Penpal Program Director/NTS Blogger​

Wafa Khan is a junior at UCLA. In high school, she was a consistent honor student, graduating in the top 1% of her graduating class. Wafa was the president of her school’s National Honors Society chapter as well as the president for her school’s Muslim Student Association Club. She is a recipient of AP Scholar awards along with an AP Capstone certificate for completing the two-year college level research course. She hopes to pursue a degree in Neuroscience with a minor in Global/Public Health, with the end goal of becoming a doctor. Wafa is currently a blogger for our website and created our Marafiki Penpal Program. She is looking forward to watching NTS grow and excited for all that is to come.

 

Martina (Tina) Grueber

Social Media Director

Tina is currently getting her Masters degree in Global Studies and International Relations at Northeastern University.  Tina is no stranger to international relationships.  From a young age, she moved around the world, living in Europe, the Middle East, and ultimately, the US.  She has always had a passion for improving the world and that passion grew even stronger during the few years she spent as a flight attendant, exploring more of the world.  In fact, a pivotal moment was a trip she made to South Africa, which sparked her desire to learn more about the African continent.  How fortunate that it brought her to NTS where she is transforming our social media platform!
